For federal companies, corporate names must first be pre-approved by the Corporations Directorate before you use them. For a name to be considered, the Directorate requires the submission of a Federal NUANS® Name Search Report. NUANS® is an Industry Canada computerized search system that compares your proposed corporate name with a database of existing corporate bodies and trademarks. The Directorate requires and relies on the Federal NUANS® Name Search Report when determining whether to approve or reject your proposed name. Use LegalDeeds to generate this document, and obtain pre-approval for your proposed corporate name. You will receive an electronic ( PDF ) copy of your report by email within 1 hour (24 hours/day, 7 days/week). The fee for the Federal NUANS® Name Search Report is $35, payable in Canadian dollars. There is no government fee for pre-approval.
