How to find a property's legal description in Ontario for free

The legal description of a parcel is used to pinpoint a specific property. In some documents, you will need both the street address and legal description. In Ontario, you can easily find legal descriptions online in a few quick steps. All you need to know is the street address of your property. The steps to perform an online title search can be found here.

First, go to the Ontario Registry’s Ontario Land Property Records Portal. Start by typing in your city, town, or Land Registry Office into the search box.
